Cairns BG Famous palms DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDE

The only mature ( and flowering /seeding ) specimens i’m currently familiar with are those in Kopsick’s collection. Floribunda had some f2 foxy ladies a while ago. The one I’m growing in Leucadia is from the same source and purchased about the same time, as this and another “Foxy Lady” I have. You did not get a palm that was basically bare root and a palm you specifically said you did not want!!! You got an amazing holy grail palm at a discount price. From the pic seems like your palm flew across the country unharmed.
I have little doubt that had it been spring, or this time of year, germination likely would have succeeded. If you’re up to a good challenge, Kopsick Palm – Arboretum in St. Pete has a few specimens, at least one that can / has produced seed. Lol but really I’ve only heard amazing things from this palm and I absolutely love the looks from it. The hybrid Wodyetia bifurcata x Veitchia arecina. I came across the legendary Foxy lady palm.

  • Bigger ” seeder ” at Kopsick sits close to where the collection’s Veitchia grove is located.
  • I have 2 smaller foxys, and they were sensitive to repotting; it stunted their growth for several months.
  • Another possibility that could be of concern is, if it was pot grown and roots had exited the drain holes and anchored into the ground, they may have been severed when lifting the pot from the ground.
  • I bought one like that on eBay recently and it will eventually be planted in a shady/partially sunny area of the garden.
  • I marked the spear the day it was delivered, and there has been zero growth (I wouldn’t be concerned with that at this point, except that the leaf has now snapped)
  • Yes, the new casino is safe as it holds multiple licenses – Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB), Anjouan iGaming and Costa Rica.
  • Call me anytime to chat about transplanting palms.

There are no light colored green leaves and zero variegation. That palm is 100% solid dark healthy green. David the light must be playing tricks in the photo, this palm has zero variegation. So my question would be if this palm is mostly green will it do well in full sun Full greens do not have any variegation. They can be solid green without any variegation.
Can you tell me if this baby foxy is a full green ? The green form tends to perform better in full all day sun than the variegated which burns more easily especially in hot dry sun. FULL DISCLOSURE…these are not photos of my palms, nor did I take these photos.

Are they the same as an F1 growth rate? I don’t know the different rates of growth for them in Florida. Will the seed look like the one you show above, or is that just the f2?

Our Experience at FoxyGold Casino

Well mine has a sparse seed set that dropped today. If this one produces seed, you should be able to tell if they have a chance.. While the largest would flower & produce seed often, most seed i’d collect were empty or basically liquid when opened.
I was advised by the seller to apply a kelp extract/ water mix, then heavy water every other day, with superthrive/ water every five days. I marked the spear the day it was delivered, and there has been zero growth (I wouldn’t be concerned with that at this point, except that the leaf has now snapped) Foxyladies hold the variegation when mature.
Now correct me if I am wrong is it true that even the green ones will spit out some variation in its life span ? I bought one like that on eBay recently and it will eventually be planted in a shady/partially sunny area of the garden. There is a variegated one on ebay right now ends in 21 hours Yup, and that’s why 100% green go for more $$

  • Do you have a FULL shade spot under some trees or overhang?
  • When you germinated the seeds of the foxy lady and the foxtail did you plant them at the same time?
  • Never noticed seed on the variegated Foxy located in another part of the collection.
  • For the past few months, specimens are in the 1gal pot size, with the palm being around a 1’ in height, most are variegated form.
  • I have an f2 and am wondering how the look of the palm compares to f1.
  • A guy in my area has them for sale pick up at 200 for a baby 1 gallon pot , he had 4 now he has 3  , i got one today  and I am looking forward to watching it grow

Regular ‘ol green specimens always look flawless. In all the years i have observed it, fronds on the variegated spec. The collection has a few standard green Foxies, and a Variegated specimen whose crown receives full sun. I’d suggest spending sometime at Kopsick Palmatium in St. Pete. So why does it seem the green is the better choice ?

I would LOVE to own that ‘ugly’ palm. I bought a 7 gallon from Premier Growers about 8 months ago and it’s already outgrowing foxy gold casino the 25 gallon pot I moved it into. I have 3-7g (one slight variegation)
Look how elongated this viable F2 seed is, that I picked up yesterday. Maybe a few other palmtalkers that I sold F2 to can pipe in. The over variegated ones seem to languish and slowly die or just grow very slow, probably due to lack of chlorophyll.

One is variegated and the other is not?? Are they famous because they are the first to produce viable seed? Are they the first two foxy ladies cultivated??? Being in tropical Cairns, they were probably seedlings 3 yrs ago. Already have an account?
